Our Finnish duo had a challenging weekend on the Mediterranean island, but managed to climb back on the leader board and take seventh in the overall classification after a consistent and error-free performance on day two of the rally.
Andreas Mikkelsen and Anders Jaeger-Amland gave it all in their Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC on the final day of Rally Italia Sardegna and won all four of the Sunday’s stages and finished third. – It’s an incredible feeling to be rewarded with a podium, we gave absolutely everything today, Andreas said after crossing the finish line.
After the fire-incident at Rally Portugal, Ole Christian Veiby had his eyes set on victory on the Mediterranean island. Unfortunately, the victory was hindered by car problems, but the young Norwegian still managed to prove his talent in the car. – It didn’t quite turn out as we wanted, but at least we managed to show we can be both smart and fast when everything is working, Ole Christian says. He managed to be the fastest WRC2 car on 7 of the 19 stages.
A trouble-some start on Friday, impressive performance on Saturday and unlucky on Sunday. That sums up Rally Portugal for Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm, who unfortunately had to retire from the rally on the final day.

Ole Christian Veiby were holding a solid lead in the WRC2 class, when his car suddenly caught fire on a stage in Rally Portugal. – We noticed the smoke in the car, and when I saw flames in the mirror, we had no other option than to stop, Ole Christian explains.
