The Volkswagen Dealerteam BAUHAUS picked up a one-two in the first race of the doubleheader at Montalegre in Portugal. Johan Kristoffersson took his fourth win of the season and Ole Christian Veiby finished second after an impressive fightback having crashed into the wall at the end of the first heat.
On Sunday Ole Christian Veiby continued his strong driving and took 2nd, his fourth podium of the season. Johan Kristoffersson crossed the finish line as first car, but were later handed a ten second penalty, and he ended 5th.
Ole Christian Veiby:
- We came here as first and fourth and leave as first and second. We also increased our lead in the teams' championship. That's great!
Johan Kristoffersson:
- We had a great weekend. It feels especially nice to generally have good pace.
- I don't agree with the decision. If you misjudge a situation and get penalised, that's ok. But I can't understand how they can find me guilty in a situation where he turns in on me.
After the two races in Portugal, Johan Kristoffersson leads the championship with Ole Christian Veiby climbing to second.
