Karl Peder is one of Norway’s most exciting rally talents. He became the youngest winner in a rally2 car ever, when he won Rallijsprints Latvija only 15 years and 107 days old.
Born in 2007, Karl Peder Nordstrand has already made a name for himself in motorsport. His career began in 2013 when he started competing in cross-kart racing, quickly displaying remarkable talent and control behind the wheel.
Next:Generation
In 2019, at the age of 12, Karl Peder was selected for Even Management’s Next:Generation project, aimed at developing young motorsport talents. Two years later, he stepped onto the international stage in the FIA Cross Car Academy Trophy. His first major triumph came in Spain, where he secured his first international victory, followed by another win at Nürburgring. These results placed him third overall in the championship and showcased his natural ability in off-road racing.
Stepping into Rallying
After two years in the Next:Generation development program, Karl Peder was chosen as the rally driver
to go forward with for the future. Due to age restrictions in Norway, he made his rally debut in Latvia in the summer of 2022. In an impressive display of skill, he won his debut rally in a front-wheel-drive car.
Later that year, he made history as the youngest winner in a rally2 car ever. Karl Peder impressed again - and won in his 4WD debut.
Dominating in Latvia
Following his breakthrough performances, Karl Peder committed to a full season in the 2023 Latvian Rally Championship in a Skoda Fabia Rally2. Competing against experienced rally drivers, he won five events outright and secured the championship title. His dominance in Latvia solidified his reputation as one of rallying’s most promising young talents.
Entering Norwegian Rallying
Turning 16 in 2024 finally allowed Karl Peder to compete in Norway. Driving a Ford Fiesta Rally4, he went up against Norway’s best in the 2WD class. While technical issues hampered his season, he demonstrated his potential at Rally Hadeland, finishing just 6.8 seconds behind multiple national champion Steven Røkland.
In addition to his Norwegian debut, Karl Peder continued racing in Latvia in 2024, entering three Rally2 events. Once again, he showcased his skill, winning two of the rallies and proving his dominance on Baltic roads.
